The Kingfisher Birds are most famous for hunting and eating Fish and some species of Kingfishers do specialize in catching fish.

Lake Eildon provides many great fish to target; like Rainbow Trout; Brown Trout; Murray Cod; Yellowbelly; and the ever-popular Redfin.

Which species will you specialize in catching from your family’s houseboat holiday home, Kingfisher?

Kingfisher was built in the 1980’s and is 18 feet in width. There is a third centre pontoon. She was out of the water last year with the pontoons serviced and a new GMW CHIR issued.

She has an ample front deck with BBQ opening into a bright and open front lounge with adjacent kitchen. The new electric Fridge/Freezer makes life so much easier.

A plus for a family is the three bedrooms with the internal toilet, which is separate from the bathroom. This arrangement is popular with many families.

Significantly, an all year-round, all-weather hardtop was added in 2014. This is accessed by internal stairs. This provides a great all year-round area to entertain and relax whilst taking in great views of the Lake. Importantly, for a family holiday home it provides a second space for the other generation. Here you will find a large outdoor dining setting and wicker cane lounges and is serviced by a Kitchenette and Weber BBQ. There is a rear area to relax on and take in the Sun during the day and the brilliant stars at night.

Kingfisher is powered by a Mercury 50hp 4 Stroke EFI Big Foot Outboard Motor. The Motor Leg was serviced whilst out of the water in 2022.

Significantly, Kingfisher has had a major upgrade to the Solar Electrics. A new Victron Energy Multi Plus 2000watt Inverter/Charger System and a new Victron Energy Smart Solar Charge Controller have been installed. Plus, new Power AGM NPC12V270AH House Batteries x 3 and 8 new 180w HV Solar Panels have been added to the existing three. The Honda EU20i Generator is now only used to back up this system.

The big budget maintenance items are under control; the solar electric upgrade is a big plus along with the year-round upstairs entertainment/relaxation area on Kingfisher. This provides combined with the 3 bedrooms and open front lounge makes Kingfisher a fabulous family holiday home on the water; a great venue to fish from all year round!!!
