Kapalua Bay is an ideal holiday resort in the Hawaiian Islands which had great similarities to magical Lake Eildon, so the original owner named his houseboat Kapalua.

Kapalua was built in 1985 by renowned professional houseboat builder Ian Kemp Marine; you know it was well built. With the new houseboat size regulations, Kapalua with the excellent foundations was given a big birthday in 2021.

The rear deck has been extended to provide a great relaxation space where all the action takes place at the waters edge. The side walls with the fixed glass windows are ideal in making this space so user friendly.

The big birthday included new external cladding for the walls and eaves providing a modern, sleek presentation whilst minimizing maintenance. Importantly this appearance is continued with the new Targa and Hardtop made with composite aluminium and steel frame (ceiling & roof are composite aluminium). Plus, the rear of the top deck was extended as well. Looks great, low maintenance and a great space to enjoy the sun with some bubbles or a BBQ dinner under the stars.

Kapalua has a very well appointed front kitchen with the stone benchtops and dining area together with the Helm. Next are the bedrooms. A queen walkaround bed for the Master, then two bunkrooms with double and single beds. These are serviced by the bathroom.

The rear lounge provides a great space to relax on the couch and watch the TV. However, more importantly now it opens onto the extended spacious rear deck which makes such a big difference.

Kapalua has very good Solar Electrics with a high quality Victron Energy Multi-Plus 3000watt Inverter/Charger System; a smart Victron Energy Solar Charge Controller; Narada REXC-1200AH house Batteries x 3; and feed by 4 Solar Panels. This is backed up by a Yamaha EF7200E Generator. Plenty of good power. Kapalua is powered by a Volvo Penta V6 175A Motor.

With the new external cladding, the rear deck extension and the new hardtop it brings this IKM houseboat to another level that looks fantastic, minimizes maintenance and makes Kapalua a great family holiday home on magical Lake Eildon.
