NEPTUNE

Neptune was the Roman God of Freshwater and the Sea; the mythology talks of Neptune providing safe passage and good times.

The houseboat Neptune has certainly been created to provide a safe environment and many good times no magical Lake Eildon.

Originally built in 2006 by renowned and very well respected professional houseboat builder, Neil Little. You know it was well built.

Importantly Neptune has the modern layout with three good sized bedrooms, serviced by a very nicely presented bathroom. The layout includes the side kitchen and spacious rear lounge. The kitchen with the stone benchtops and quality appliances really works. Imagine, if you have to be in the kitchen the view.

Then with the new sizes permitted the owners gave Neptune a big Birthday in 2018.

This has seen the front deck extended by 250ml to make access to the houseboat easier.

Then the big change was to extend the rear deck by 1.35m and a new full width hydraulic duckboard. This extension has made an enormous difference to the experience offered by Neptune as this is where all the action takes place. You can comfortably sit on deck chairs as you watch the kids enjoy the water on the large duckboard.

The other big part of the refurbishment has been the first storey level. A completely new hardtop was installed in 2018. This included new side tinted sliding glass windows. The Big Plus was the rear deck extension (1.2m).

Again, this made a giant difference to the experience; sit out and enjoy the sun and the magnificent view; plus, you are not cramped when the whole family is sitting up to a beautiful BBQ dinner. The full width roller blind makes it so easy to open up or close up this area. It provides something that is very important on a houseboat, the second entertainment space for the other generation on board.

The upgrade has been mindful of reducing maintenance wherever possible but also providing a wonderful sleek appearance. Composite Aluminium has been used f or the external cladding and a timber coloured composite aluminium has been used for all eaves and the ceiling on the first storey level; it looks great and minimal maintenance.

Technology has not been forgotten with the upgrades; the important expensive stuff that makes a quality experience happen. There is a state of the art Selectronic SP PRO Series Inverter/Charger System; a Victron Energy Smart Solar Charge Controller; a roof full of quality Solar Panels (6kw) and new AV Lithium Batteries (9.5kw). This high quality system is backed up by an Onan 5kva Marine Generator. Further, a Bow Thruster has been installed.

Neptune was last slipped in 2024 May; there is a GMW CHIR available plus there are out of the water photos of underneath the houseboat on file.

Neptune is not only a beautifully presented and maintained houseboat holiday home, but it also has the layout and the technology that makes Neptune ideal as a family holiday home on the water.
